Talk Thursday // Defying Gravity

Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing by
The rules of someone else's game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes
And leap...
It's time to try defying gravity
I think I'll try defying gravity
And you can't pull me down

I'm through accepting limits
Cuz someone says they're so
Some things I cannot change
But till I try I'll never know
Too long I've been afraid of
Losing love I guess I've lost
Well if that's love
It comes at much too high a cost
I'd sooner buy defying gravity
Kiss me goodbye, I'm defying gravity
And you can't pull me down!

What are you dreaming of defying gravity for? Do you have any big dreams that you're ready to pursue and chase after? Even if it means people think you're crazy or foolish or....Wicked?

I haven't figured it out yet for myself. But I'm ready to have that dream. I'm ready to defy gravity. Thanks Elphaba!

I'd love to teach theatre in christian schools, exposing some of the real world into the little christian bubbles.

I want to be a theology prof. I can't wait to mess kids up by telling them that everything they thought they knew is based on the most slender of evidence!

Considerably different than what I desired to be when I was a four: a missionary to McDonalds. Yeah. I had high hopes. And I loved their french fries.

It's really amazing what this song does to someone.

Wow - Chris Ryan - I don't know you, but.... wow. I think we must have had similar experiences in Bible College. You took a class on Revelation, didn't you?

My greatest dream right now - become a rancher's wife. Cheesy and ridiculous, I know - but, its truly what I want. That, and to figure out time travel. haha.

And, when I saw this at the Fox, I literally started crying during this song. I am such a loser.

Jenny,

No class on Revelation. But my systematic theology course did cover eschatology. It was Bible classes, though, that ruined me. That is why I love them so.
