Talk Thursday // ENFJ

So I don't know if many people know this about me, but I'm an extrovert. "Whaaaaaaat?!", you say, "Sarah Lewis? An extrovert?! Shocking!" (Yes, I can hear what your minds are thinking...creepy, huh?)

Well, this little known secret about me is now out: Myers-Briggs told me that I was an extrovert. In fact, I scored at nearly 100% on the Extroversion scale (I don't know if there's actually a scale, but for a fake statistic, a scale is necessary). But Myers-Briggs also told me that I was several other things: iNtuitive, a Feeler (hehehe) and a Judger (this one we knew).

Answering questions about myself is one of my most favorite past-times. So I will assume that you all like doing it too. Therefore, today's Talk Thursday has two-parts: go to this site, take the Myers-Briggs indicator test and then come back here and let us know what you are. If you already know your "type", I will allow you to forego/forgeo/forgo* the 1st step.

Do you think the type assigned to you matches you very well? Do you like being put in a personality box? What kind of box knife do you use to get out said box?

*I apparently can't spell and have no desire to check word, even knowing that I may potentially get hounded by people for forgoing/foregoing/forgoeing this simple step. It's about principles, people.

I've taken the Myers-Briggs several times before. Every time I end up almost exactly in the cross-hairs of the giant quadrant results chart. What does that say about me? "Awesome".

Well, that just goes to show that opposites attract!

I am an IST/FJ... my T and F were on the middle hence the "/" I think my Myers-Briggs score suits me very well. What do you think?

Oh, and one more thing... how did we survive being roommates again...? ;)

Well, I'll just say it. I really dislike these kinds of quizzes. I'm so the type of person that wants to answer the same question 5 different ways based on different scenarios...
However, I took the test and I came out as an ISFJ... I think I agree with the mostly introverted, sensing and feeling parts. But I am not sure about the judging part? Did I judge you when you couldn't figure out how to spell forgo? Ok, yes, I did a little. Well, then I guess I agree with all of it. But I'd still use the biggest box-cutter ever to escape from my personalitly prison-box!!

I am INTJ, or "Rational Portrait of the Mastermind." Sounds cool, right?

My personality type excels at creating complex operations involving a progression of stages or steps. In other words, "Masterminds never set off on their current project without a Plan A firmly in mind, but they are always prepared to switch to Plan B or C or D if need be." We value efficiency, and although we don't jump up to lead, we can take over if someone else is unable. We enjoy problem-solving, and are great at making decisions, as long as we can do an adequate amount of research first.

I believe this describes me well, and my wife concurs. I research every possible apartment we could rent before looking at particular ones. I keep an ongoing long-term budget, adjusting it as needed. The first thing I did in my church job was develop specific progressive goals, and I plan ministry things step-by-step.

I love my personality box because it is well-planned and efficient. No box knife needed here.

Mine as INTP, or introverted (duh) intuitive, thinking and perceiving. It says I like to do alot of things on my own and that I like to analyze things to better understand them. Sounds pretty accurate, although I don't think I fit this all the time. Sometimes I'm extroverted, sometimes I'm more feeling than thinking, etc. It's a good indicator of personality type, but I don't think it can fully explain who I am. If I want to explain myself to someone, I don't think I'll pull out my test result. I feel it's something someone is going to have to the time to understand fully. But hey, that's just me. :) -Kempey
