Talk Thursday // I want to be Arwen

The character of Arwen from The Lord of the Rings movies is one of the greatest characters ever (in my humble opinion). Probably my favorite line in any movie is "If you want him - come and claim him!" She's daring and brave and passionate. And she gets to be makey-outy with Viggo. ;)

Adventures intrigue and inspire us. Epic tales of heros and heroines battling the villians awaken something within us.

I have always wanted to be part of an adventure. Something that requires that my life be completely and forever altered, something that alters the lives of the people around me.

At this point, I don't feel like I've found my "great adventure." But there is always hope.

Are you part of an epic adventure? Do you long to be caught up in something greater than yourself? To ride off into the sunset, knowing that you are completely changed from who you were before? If you haven't found it yet, are you looking? Do you want to be part of an adventure? What adventures are you dreaming of?

Oh SCC, you are the rich man's MWS. ;)

"...to the wild blue yonder of God's amazing grace..."

Sarah - this post sums up the exact reason we are such wonderful friends. just reading it put butterflies in my stomach and made my heartbeat quicken. I LONG to be part of an epic adventure... that's why I am so irrevocably enamored with stories that encapsulate that drive to be a part of something BIG...

I don't have any particular adventures in mind at this point, but making out with Viggo (or any other rustic"will fight to keep me alive" hero-type) would be a good starting point. :)

To be accurate, the lyric goes, "through the wild blue yonder..."

You know SCC, that lyric could really go either way. Just because people have sex to my songs doesn't mean I don't know English. It could be "to" or "through." Why don't you just go west, young man?
