Talk Thursday // Lessons Learned on a Thursday

I made two bad decisions before 8 am this morning:

1) I thought BigFoot Java would have decent coffee (they don't)
and
2) I thought taking the Valley freeway to work would be my best commuting option (it wasn't)

Because last week's "Humor Survey" was so much fun, let me conduct another survey - Weekday Morning Survey!

If you love Jesus, you'll answer these questions. If you want Tom Cruise to stop being crazy, you'll answer these questions. If you want to see that annoying co-worker leave, you'll answer these questions. If you want Brooks & Dunn to stay together, you'll answer these questions. And if you want an end to my ridiculous "If...Then" statements, you'll answer these questions.

1. What time do you have to be wherever it is you need to be (work, school, home) in the morning/afternoon/evening?
2. How do you get there?
3. What's your morning beverage of choice?
4. Are you a morning shower-er or an evening one? (Or are you like Matthew McCaugnehey and don't shower at all? (PS: ew))

And, PS, don't get BigFoot Java. They are now dead to me.

I have spoken (thanks Heather L-C). =)

The Moments I Wish I Had Twitter

I don't like Twitter. It's not that I dislike people who Twitter, it's that I don't like my text messages going off all the bloody time. It's like getting a Facebook update to your phone all the time (which I've done and it drove me wingy). I love you; I just don't want to know what you're doing every moment of the day.

However, there are those rare moments where I think Twitter would be great. If I'd had Twitter, this is what I would have written this morning:

This morning there was a wolf in my yard. Friendly but considerably less so at the mention of vampires. Too much Twilight for me? Probably.

If you could Twitter about your morning so far, what would it say?

Things That Make Mornings Awesome:

* Hot showers

* New clothes

* Leaving on time

* Mom unexpectedly making sausage & bacon for me (I love living at home!)

* A rock-awesome mix CD for the commute

* Jack Johnson playing in the coffee shop

* Realizing that it's Friday

Wednesday

The worst feeling in the world is waking up and thinking that if it's not Saturday, it's gotta be at least Friday.

Then realizing it's only Wednesday.

Thank God it's Hump Day just doesn't seem to cut it today.

How's your Hump Day going?

Caffeine

I think it may be pyschological. Seriously. At 8.45 this morning, I could barely keep my eyes open. Which, as a data enter-er (er), is sort of a requirement.

So I trudged my way down to the refreshments area and made myself a cup o' joe. With some chocolate in it.

Almost instantaneously, I was revived.

Which leads me to think that it must be more psycho-somatic than anything else. There's no way the caffeine would have had time to reach my blood stream before I was feeling more awake.

Apparently, I get revived simply thinking about the cup of coffee in my hand.

What wakes you up?

How to Start Your Morning

This was the coffee sleeve on my hot chocolate this morning. Now, this people, this is the way to start an early Tuesday morning. I even forgave my hot chocolate for being so weak and watered down because it was so complimentary.

I'm obviously a words person.

How's the best way you start your morning?

PS: New blog game starts tomorrow. Get excited and get your game faces on! =)
