Talk Thursday // Fanilow

I once met Sandi Patty.

It probably would rank as one of the top 3 moments of my life.

If I could remember it.

However, I was so excited I blacked out from sheer joy of meeting one of my most favorite people in the whole wide world. (If my mom ranks as an 11/10 on the awesomeness scale, Sandi is like 10.95/10.) My mom tells me that I talked about how much I loved her "Friendship Company" tape when I was four and that we've had a 19-year relationship that she knew nothing about. Then she signed my Bible. I suppose if anyone was going to sign my Bible, it might as well be Sandi Freaking Patty.

Now I know that most of you are thinking "what is the opposite of name-dropping?" It would in fact be name-dropping Southern gospel singers. Or NHL players.

However, it is a pretty big deal to meet "celebrities" (in my opinion). Cause I'm a fanilow. (Two sitcom references in one post. Bonus points if you get them!)

So today's Talk Thursday is one of my most favorite "ice-breaker" questions:
If you could have lunch with anyone famous (dead or alive) who would it be? And a follow-up, have you met anyone famous? Have any good name-dropping stories?

And as another no-name-dropping bit o' awesomeness, at the Gaither concert last weekend I got to (re)meet Wes Hampton! And he remembered me from last year's Alaskan cruise! What a night! What a moment!

You, my dear, are a nerd.

but yeah, I met a Thai superstar one time at the ice cream shop his girlfriend owns in Chiang Mai. His name is Mario. I didn't get a picture with him, because I didn't know who he was; that turned out to be a mistake. But he was a really nice guy.

If i could eat with anyone, prolly Morgan Freeman or Tom Hanks.. there are others that I would enjoy talking to, but if I had to choose one, it would be which ever one of those two is available.

Will and Grace! Fanilow is from Will and Grace! I haven't met any celebrities... I think the closest I've been to a celebrity was in junior high when I went to the NSYNC concert, and I wasn't even sitting that close. Oh well...

If I could meet a celebrity, I think I'd want to meet Kristin Chenoweth or Neil Patrick Harris. Mostly because I see them on tv or watch online interviews and I wonder, "Are they really that nice in person?? Really?" Yep, I feel like those are good solid choices.

I got a hug from Dr. Reeves Wednesday night. WHAT. XD

Umm...I've mentioned Anthony Bourdain as my old man crush, PLUS the guy would know where to go to get the good food. So yeah. Other than him...Don Miller, perhaps? Yes. That sounds pretty awesome, too.

If I were to dwell on this any longer, I would probably have a crazy-long list. Like probably all of my favorite bands/artists (dead and alive).

Heather, nice job! You got one! (There's another in there for ya, too. =) )

I would totally want to have lunch w/ Dolly Parton. Or Sandi Patty. Or Justin Timberlake. (But that would only be to convince him to fall in love with me. (also, Jason Segel for the same reason,))

But definitely Dolly or Sandi. Cause I love them. True story. Tell your friends. =)

**NOTE**
Zac...you're a nerd.
Erica, I don't know who Anthony Bourdain is but I trust you. =)

He hosts "No Reservations" on the travel channel. He's also a chef and writer. He is boss.
